For those new to online banking: click here to get started.
We all know how banking is currently done. You go into your credit union or bank, queue up and wait in line for a few minutes until you get to a teller while easy listening music plays in the background. The teller accesses your account, and from there you can do things like make deposits and withdraws, make loan payment, or solve an account discrepancy. If you’re in a hurry, you can also use an ATM. Just walk or drive up to the machine, put in your debit card and PIN number, and make a withdrawal or deposit.
While there’s nothing wrong with this approach, times change and technology improves. You can already conveniently access your account online, either at your computer or through the First Alliance Credit Union mobile app, and do things like transfer money between accounts, check your credit score, make payments to companies or individuals and even start a loan application.
That time is now. First Alliance is proud to introduce our state-of-the-art Advisor Supported Kiosks. You may have heard other banks or credit unions refer to them as Interactive Teller Machines (ITMs) or Video Teller Machines. No matter what you call them, though, these kiosks are cutting edge and are poised to improve your banking experience.
Great question! If you were to look at one of our Kiosks, you would probably think it’s nothing more impressive than an ATM with a touchscreen.
The thing is, you’re not exactly wrong—our Kiosks can handle everything an ATM can do, the same way a sports car can do everything a bicycle can. If you need to check your checking and savings account balances, the Kiosk can do that. If you need to get some cash in multiples of 20, the Kiosk can do that, too. However, our Kiosks can do so much more. For instance, it can dispense cash in multiple denominations, such as $100, $20, $5 and $1.
The Kiosks can also deposit up to 50 checks and 200 bills of cash—in the same transaction!—and deposit them to whatever accounts you need. You can also access all of your account information, check your balances and even transfer money between your accounts.
In fact, you can even access any loans you have with First Alliance, including your credit card accounts, through our Kiosk. If that weren’t enough, you can make loan payments to First Alliance loans and credit cards during your Kiosk session, too.
Of course, even the most advanced technology can’t do everything a human being can do.
That’s why our Kiosks also provide you access to a live Advisor at the touch of a button. If you’re stuck on a transaction or need some help that only another human can provide, all you have to do is press the ASSIST button at any time during the transaction and a knowledgeable Kiosk Advisor will appear on the screen, ready to provide personalized assistance with any questions you might have.
Meet Your Kiosk Advisors
While you can complete self-service transactions 24/7, our advisors are human and need sleep, thus advisor supported transactions are available Monday—Friday: 7:30 am to 6:00 pm and Saturdays: 8:00 am to Noon.
All of these features make our Kiosks one of the safest ways to do banking. They offer convenience with a human touch, but also greatly reduce the risk of contracting viruses from influenza to COVID-19.
To start using the Kiosk, simply insert your debit card and enter your PIN, just like you would with an ATM. From there, you will be able to complete any transaction you’re accustomed to completing at a teller line.
You’ll select the transaction you need to complete from the main menu screen that appears. If you need to complete a simple transaction, the Kiosk will display simple step-by-step instructions to walk you through it.
However, if you want to complete a slightly more complex transaction, the Kiosk will call up a Kiosk Advisor, who will assist you in completing your transaction. It’s that easy!
Here’s a quick look at some of the transactions you can expect to be able to complete quickly and conveniently through the Kiosks in the lobby and the drive-up!
These are the transaction that can be completed 24/7/365. The Kiosk will walk your through each transaction. You can complete multiple transaction within a single session.
An Advisor will provide support when you want to complete the following transactions. They are available Monday through Friday 7:30 am to 6:00 PM and Saturdays 8:00 AM to Noon.
Of course, if you are trying to complete a self-service transaction and feel you need a human to help you, just push the ASSIST button and an Advisor will be called to support you. No question is ever too big or too small.
When a company announces any new upgraded technology, it always raises a number of questions. Our new Advisor Supported Kiosks are no exception. We know you have a lot of questions about this new technology, and we’d like to answer them here.
This is one of the first questions that comes up when we talk about how much the Kiosks can do.
First of all—don’t panic. First Alliance Credit Union is not letting go of any of our employees. In fact, we’ve actually been hiring people to fill the new position of Kiosk Advisor. As we mentioned before, even the best technology can’t do everything a human can do!
As for the person-to-person interactions you’re looking for at a branch, they are not going away either. When you visit our Commerce Drive branch, our Member Experience Advisors will be on hand to help you navigate through important life events, like the best way to save for a wedding, how to plan for your retirement, the best way to save up for a house and get a mortgage or the best way to consolidate your debt.
At First Alliance, your financial security is our top priority, which is why our Kiosks have been engineered to protect your personal information.
When you step up to a Kiosk, your body blocks the lower account information screen. What’s more, each screen is fitted with a special filter that makes reading the screen impossible unless you’re staring at it head on. To make the Kiosks even safer, each one has been fitted with sidewalls that prevent people on either side of you from sneaking a glimpse at your personal information.
Plus, you’ll no longer have to verbalize your account number out loud for everyone else in the lobby to hear. Inserting your debit card into the Kiosk connects you to your account. If you require an Advisor Support transaction, you’ll be able to key in most information on the private keypad on the Kiosk.
Eventually, they will be. For now, though, they are available at our First Alliance Commons branch at 2483 Commerce Drive NW Rochester in the lobby and in the drive-ups.
You can withdraw any amount of money you need, in bills of your choice, from the Kiosks. However, if you need more than $500, you’ll need to press the ASSIST button. A Kiosk Advisor will then be happy to help you make a larger withdrawal any time between 7:30 am to 6 pm Monday through Friday and Saturdays 8 am to Noon.
If you need to deposit coins, you can use the coin counter in the lobby. Once the coin counter gives you a receipt, a Member Experience Advisor will deposit the amount into your account for you. Our Commerce Drive lobby is open from 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday and Saturdays 9 am to Noon.
Our Member Experience Advisors would love to show you how to get started using the Kiosks. They can also issue cashier’s checks, help you take out loans, and even help you open accounts. Plus, they can issue you a debit card instantly in the lobby so you can take advantage of all the great resources First Alliance Credit Union has to offer (like the Advisor Supported Kiosks).
Even though our Kiosks can help you complete self-service transactions 24/7, our advisors need their sleep so they can keep providing you with top-level service. Kiosk Advisors are available to assist you 7:30 am to 6 pm, Monday to Friday. On Saturday, Kiosk Advisors are available from 8 am to 12 pm.
The best way to start a Kiosk session is by inserting your debit card, just like at an ATM. If you don’t have your debit card, press the ASSIST button on the Kiosk screen and one of our helpful Kiosk Advisors will appear to help you get started. For your personal security, they will start by scanning your driver’s license on the Kiosk. All you need to do is place your license face down on the scanning area on the Kiosk terminal. Advisor support is available any time between 7:30 am and 6 pm Monday through Friday and Saturdays 8 am to Noon.
Advisor Supported Kiosks are the cutting edge of financial technology that will improve the way you do banking. It increases the number of transactions you can control, while a helpful Kiosk Advisor can help you with almost any other transaction you need. Perhaps best of all, it frees up the in-person Member Advisors to help our members navigate a financial path through important life events.
Come down to our First Alliance Commons branch and experience convenience, personalized.
